Our chapter has only been participating in the community challenge for a short time but we have found it to be a useful and worthwhile endeavor. We look forward to finding new organizations to help each year.
In 2001 we collected used eyeglasses and donated them to the
Lions Club of Toledo.
In 2002 our chapter members raised money for
Gifts for Teens. Candy and granola bars were sold within our law firms and at several local businesses. With the money raised, the chapter purchased walkmans, radios,
cd players and other music related items.
In 2003 our chapter members once again raised money for Gifts
for Teens. With candy bar sales and donations within our
law firms our chapter gave a monetary donation to the Lucas County
Children's Services Gifts for Teens.
In 2005 our chapter members
donated money and partnered with the Toledo Bar Association to help
build a home for Habitat for Humanity.
In 2006 our chapter members
and vendor sponsors donated their time to assist the March of Dimes
in their annual Signature Chef's Event. The event raised over
$30,000 with it's silent and live auctions!
In 2007 our chapter members and vendor sponsors donated money
and partnered with the Toledo Bar Association to help build a home
for Habitat for Humanity.
In 2008 our chapter members volunteered their time
working at the 2008 March of Dimes Chef's Event. This event
raised over $80,000 for premature babies for assistance to families
for preventative care and post delivery assistance.
Additionally our chapter donated money to the Association of Legal
Administrators Smile Train Project and
gave money to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief for the
southern United States. |
